1. Introduction

Welcome to Ahoy. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ahoy.je (the "Site"), operated by Ahoy ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

2. About Ahoy

Ahoy is an event listing platform based in Jersey, Channel Islands. We allow users to discover and submit event listings.

3. Eligibility

To use Ahoy you must:

1. Be at least 13 years old
2. Have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
3. Provide accurate information when submitting listings or contacting us

4. Accounts

If you create an account, you are responsible for:

1. Keeping your login details secure
2. All activity that takes place under your account
3. Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised access

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

5. Submitting event listings

When you submit an event to Ahoy, you confirm that:

1. You have the right to publish the event details and any images included
2. The information is accurate and not misleading
3. The event complies with all applicable laws
4. You grant Ahoy a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, promote, and distribute the listing on the Site and associated channels

We reserve the right to edit, reject, or remove any listing at our discretion.

6. Prohibited content and behaviour

You agree not to submit or post content that:

1. Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or discriminatory
2. Infringes the intellectual property or privacy rights of others
3. Contains spam, scams, or misleading promotions
4. Promotes events that breach Jersey or UK law
5. Contains malware or attempts to disrupt the Site

You also agree not to scrape, copy, or republish content from the Site without permission.

7. Third-party events and content

Ahoy lists events submitted by third parties. We do not organise or endorse these events. Any agreement, ticket purchase, or interaction with an event organiser is solely between you and them. We are not responsible for the conduct, cancellation, safety, or quality of any listed event.

8. Intellectual property

All Site content not submitted by users — including the Ahoy name, logo, design, and code — is owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or reuse it without written permission.

9. Disclaimer

The Site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee:

1. The accuracy or completeness of event listings
2. That the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free
3. That defects will be corrected

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ahoy is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the Site or attendance at any listed event. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Ahoy against any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or your use of the Site.

12. Changes to the Site or these Terms

We may update the Site or these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Jersey, Channel Islands. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Jersey courts.
